About this
Adult-Oriented World
(Author's Interpretation)
What is the Realm of Wayward
Enchantments?
The Realm of Wayward Enchantments is a decidely adult world, created and
intended to provide adult literary entertainment. The tales can and
often do contain graphic depictions of sex as well as violence, but are
more than a smut-fest. They are the recording of a journey that is
interactive. Tales of a great conflict during which people love,
hate, experience great losses and great gains, gleaning both happiness and
despair as they move through life. Stories about bigotry and jealousies
that show how low men can go in the quest for power, and of victories that
show how high they can soar when they find redemption. It is often a
violent, painful and unfair journey, wrought with flawed individuals
trying to make their way the best they can. These are also tales
about love, how it can be found in the most difficult situations, and how
it can strengthen the wounded soul of an individual or scar it even
deeper.
In other words, even with the magical elements . . . the tales from the
Wayward Realm are still stories about Life. What makes it
different is because the elements that are usually skimmed over in
mainstream fiction are told here in all their carnal glory in common
language deemed not suitable in a typical vocabulary. Which makes
the stories a guilty pleasure.
What is the Purpose of this Adult-Oriented World?
The purpose of this world is to provide a fantasy backdrop for those of us
who like the idea of magic, while still containing action, adventure, and
humor as well as steamy and sometimes disturbing scenes of sexual
interaction. Although intimacy is the main focus of erotica, there
will be depictions of less than savory acts, since those occur in real
life as well. That being said, this Realm is not for everyone. Rainbows
and butterflies are left at the door in this world.
What is Your Approach to Adult Fiction?
My approach to Adult Fiction is to mix physical intimacy with romance and
emotion, often providing several points of view rather than just
descriptions. Good Adult Fiction involves more than "pump and thrust"
descriptions and visualization. There has to be a sense of
connection between the characters, depending on the situation, but more
importantly . . . there needs to be a sense of connection between the
reader and the characters. That is what I try to accomplish here.
What I hope to do is have the reader become connected. It will make
the reading experience so much more enjoyable.
Is this World Mostly about Sexual Interactions?
As titillating as reading about sex can be, it is so much more enjoyable
when surrounded by life. There needs to be a purpose for the
interactions . . . a purpose for the entire world. Sex is just one
part of it. I hope that I am able to convey this to the reader.
That is why although this Realm is an exploration into eroticism, sex will
not be leaping off every page. Because it is part of life, not the
whole of it. There is so much more to experience, thus making
intimacy, when it occurs, even more compelling.
Why Write Adult Fiction?
Why do I write Adult Fiction? Because, I enjoy it as others do. One
thing about us human beings is we have a tendency to consider natural
functions as obscene. Passing gas, defecating, urinating, engaging
in intercourse . . . it's something we all do, yet something we have a
tendency to abhor. Oh, the animals have us beaten by light years.
What's even more amazing is that dwelling on sex, or enjoying watching the
act or even engaging in it can be considered "wrong." Why?
Because it stimulates us? Gives us "ideas?" Isn't that what it is
supposed to do? I think as adults, we have the right to read what we
like without being curtailed by the hang-ups of others. There's not
a single person on this earth that's not the product of sex, I don't care
how disturbing they find it. More than likely, their parents enjoyed
getting them here. (smiles) Again, I reiterate. I write
Adult Fiction because I enjoy it and I believe it is life-affirming as well.
What is the Difference between Adult
Fiction/Erotica and
Pornography?
Now, this is my opinion only. Erotica is
different from porn in that the interactions are not all animal. We
get to see and experience the humanity behind sexual situations, see the
growing attractions, the longing, even the lust and watch it come to its
proper and often satisfying conclusion in detail. Sometimes, we just
want to KNOW what happens between two (or more) people who are consenting
adults. Given the overall view concerning sex, reading about
intimacy between other people is rather naughty, and that makes it
enjoyable. Pornography is basically just blatant sex devoid of
anything remotely human. Except for the participants that is.
Not to say there isn't anything appealing about that. Sometimes you
want to avoid the complications. But erotica embraces the situations that
lead to sex, the warring of the mind and heart versus the body's longings.
The insanity that can happen because of a great desire to physically possess
or be possessed by another human being. Erotica captures what it
means to be both human and animal and the conflicts that causes before we
fall to our baser yet compelling natures.
Are There Any Benefits to Reading Adult Fiction/Erotica?
As far as I know, there are distinct benefits to reading erotica, at least
to those who read it. I've received many letters from people
thanking me for "spicing up" their love lives. But, that spice was
always there . . . they just needed something to unlock it for them.
So, erotica can be an aid as well as adult entertainment.
What Do You Hope to Accomplish by Writing this
Type of Literature?
Well, of course . . . I'd like to make
money, since I seem to have a bit of a penchant for writing this kind of
thing. In fact, creating these kinds of stories seem to be the only
thing I do with any dedication. Publication is my ultimate goal.
But, that being said, I really hope to provide quality adult entertainment
for others. Something that supersedes mere smut . . . a well-rounded
world that captures all of Life's experiences without glossing anything
over. There definitely won't be any Pulitzers coming this way, but
still if I can provide entertainment that really feeds all aspects of a
reader's desire to be immersed in a story regardless of the lack of awards, to me, it will still be something of
merit. Helping people enjoy themselves in a worthy pursuit, one that
brings me great satisfaction. |
